Andrew Pass, owner

Andrew is the current owner of John Pass and took over the family business from his father in 1996 after working for one of the country’s largest and best-loved retailers. He refers to himself as “a details man” and is passionate about building a world-class business that has exceptional customer service at its heart.

Sarah Ollier, watch buyer

Sarah started as a Saturday store assistant at John Pass in Crewe in 2012, but Andrew quickly spotted her potential and she soon scaled the ranks. Based across the two John Pass locations, Sarah now controls a six-figure watch buying budget.

“Rolex is a prestige brand that inspires a lot of loyalty. People keep coming back to it because they know they can trust in the watches to deliver that top level of quality, and to hold their value. Some of our customers have more than 30 Rolex watches in their collections.”

Not only is Hannah a Rolex expert she is also in charge of the events held by the store. A particular career high for Hannah was a Rolex customer event John Pass held at Weston Park in South Staffordshire that hosted 60 guests at a lavish dinner event and overnight stay at Weston Park stately home.

“Everything about Rolex is done to perfection, so when I serve customers I do so with complete confidence as there is never any doubt in my mind that a Rolex won’t let them down. The watches look fantastic, deliver great timekeeping and the servicing is first rate.”

Nat Carnes, jewellery buyer

As well as being responsible for selecting the fine jewellery on sale at John Pass, Nat is a skilled Rolex aficionado who has undergone extensive training at its HQ. She joined the John Pass team in 2009 after her father bought two watches from Andrew and suggested the store would be a good fit for her skills – it turns out he was right.

“Rolex have really let us inside their world and indoctrinated us in The Rolex Way, which allows us to emulate those qualities of excellence at Newcastle-under-Lyme. It’s a brand with brilliant stories – such Edmund Hillary wearing a Rolex Perpetual Oyster on his quest to the top of Mount Everest – and being able to share them with customers is a joy.”

Katie has been working with John Pass since 2009 and splits her time between the Crewe and Newcastle-under-Lyme stores. She is the latest recruit to its Rolex sales team and is enjoying getting to know the brand and John Pass’s Rolex collectors.

“What I love about Rolex is that there is something for everyone. The Datejust offers so many chances for personalisation through dial and bracelet combinations. Rolex is such an instantly recognisable brand – when someone has one on their wrist, you know exactly what it is. Plus, they make for a solid investment.”
